What is PCIT?

Who can PCIT help?
- Children ages 2-7
- Children with disruptive behavior disorders including ADHD
- Children affected by abuse/neglect
- Children who are or have been in foster care
- Children recently adopted or in preadoptive placements
What does treatment look like?
- Parent and child are together during sessions
- A specially trained therapist coaches parents, helping them learn and practice skills from behind a one way mirror
- Weekly sessions for about 12 to 14 weeks
- Parents/caregivers practice skills at home each week.
