CDMHC CLINIC UPDATES (As of 6/19/20)
All SCDMH inpatient facilities (hospitals and nursing homes), and community mental health centers remain open and functional. All components of the agency are taking precautions to protect patients, residents and staff from exposure to the novel coronavirus.
Currently, appointments are taking place in a variety of ways: face-to-face (with proper physical distancing and screening precautions in place); by telephone; and by video. The way your appointment occurs will depend on many factors. If you are uncertain about a face-to-face visit, please discuss this with your provider so that we can ensure your appointment occurs in a manner that is comfortable for you.
All patients and staff are required to have his/her temperature checked upon arrival and to wear a face mask covering both mouth and nose at all times while on our campus. A staff member will ask you to sanitize your hands and ask some basic health-related screening questions.
Our appointment reminder system is active and, in most cases, will contact you prior to your appointment. This reminder system will indicate where your appointment will take place (home, school, MHC (mental health clinic)) and will also indicate “telehealth or telephone” if a video or telephone appointment was scheduled. Again, if you have questions, please contact our Clinic for clarification.
The Assessment/Mobile Crisis team will continue to respond to crises in the community. Both our Dorchester and Charleston clinics are accepting walk ins M-F from 9-3, but we do prefer that you call first to let us know you are coming. (Dorchester – 843-873-5063, Charleston – 843-414-2350).
These precautions will help limit patient and staff exposure to COVID-19 in our community. We must all do our part to keep our family, friends, and neighbors safe and healthy.
